A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Bobby Wilson; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, owner and founder of the Metro Atlanta Urban Farm in College Park, Georgia,2
Bobby Wilson was recently honored as one of CNN's 2022 Top 10 Heroes at its 16th annual3
event; and4
WHEREAS, Bobby Wilson plans to use his $10,000 award as seed money to build an5
informal Agricultural S.T.E.M. and Community Science Research Center, which will provide6
students from marginalized and underserved communities with access and opportunities to7
explore careers in agricultural science; and8
WHEREAS, Bobby Wilson has dedicated innumerable hours of his time and energy toward9
exposing students of all ages to careers in agriculture through internships, agriculture jobs10
tours, agribusiness farm tours, and agriculture volunteer opportunities; and11
WHEREAS, opened for business 13 years ago, the Metro Atlanta Urban Farm occupies five12
acres of land in the City of College Park and serves communities across metro Atlanta as a13
COVID-19 Emergency Relief Center; and14 23 LC 112 1463

WHEREAS, the Metro Atlanta Urban Farm operates under a model that works to decrease
15
the number of food-insecure families through education on planting, cultivating, preparing,16
and consuming fresh produce free of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers; and17
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstanding citizen be appropriately18
honored for his visionary efforts on behalf of others.19
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20
the members of this body recognize and commend Bobby Wilson as a CNN 2022 Top 1021
Hero and extend best wishes for future success in his laudable endeavors to serve the22
community.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to25
Bobby Wilson.26
