99 Supporting the Community Champions Initiative; and for other purposes.

1111 WHEREAS, we are at a point in our nation's history where it is vital for good people at the2
1212 local level to come together to provide our young people with career opportunities, life skill3
1313 coaching, and mentorship that leads to thriving families with exciting futures; and4
1414 WHEREAS, we as elected leaders understand the importance of involving every sector of5
1515 our community in this effort and we support a partnership that includes elected leaders,6
1616 education leaders, business leaders, faith leaders, and community leaders who will help guide7
1717 this effort; and8
1818 WHEREAS, our youth and families have the need for well compensated employment that9
1919 provides opportunities for both career and educational advancement; and10
2020 WHEREAS, our public and private employers have a tremendous need for well trained and11
2121 motivated employees, and it is incumbent that we as leaders provide both a process and12
2222 platform to bring all partners together in a long term and sustainable effort; and13 23 LC 112 1555

2525 WHEREAS, the successful implementation of this effort will elevate our community as a

2727 model for both the state and nation and will create a true "climate of success" that will bring15
2828 the type of prosperity that benefits our long term residents, attracts great new families, and16
2929 leaves no one behind.17
3030 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18
3131 the members of this body support the Community Champions Initiative that unites all sectors19
3232 of our community together in an effort that will bring hope and opportunity, wealth creation,20
3333 and asset building to our youth and families.21
3434 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22
3535 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the23
3636 public and the press.24
