A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Reverend Dr. David L. Stallion Sr. on the occasion of his

eighth pastoral anniversary at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. David L. Stallion Sr. has demonstrated his commitment to3
teaching the Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical,4
psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and5
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Stallion was called by the Lord eight years ago to lead the6
congregation of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church; and 7
WHEREAS, his vision and direction have helped Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church grow in size8
and influence, uplifting the community like the light of Bethlehem and serving as a spiritual9
leader and place for fellowship; and10
WHEREAS, over the past eight years leading Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Reverend Dr.11
Stallion has established numerous programs and workshops that have improved the spiritual12
and educational growth of the church and the surrounding community; and13

WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the sick, counseling the
14
troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or15
humanitarian, Reverend Dr. Stallion serves as a shining example of God's righteous path; and16
WHEREAS, the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Reverend Dr. Stallion is a source17
of strength and direction for persons in all walks of life; and18
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message19
of peace and love be recognized and congratulated for his innumerable good works rendered20
on behalf of persons in need.21
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22
the members of this body recognize and commend Reverend Dr. David L. Stallion Sr. on the23
wonderful occasion of his eighth pastoral anniversary at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and24
extend best wishes for many more years of successful fellowship and leadership.25
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to27
Reverend Dr. David L. Stallion Sr.28
