A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Chapter 1 of Title 28 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to

general provisions relative to the General Assembly, so as to require the submission of names2
and residential addresses of members of the General Assembly to certain entities for3
purposes of inclusion of such information in motor vehicle records and the criminal justice4
information system; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other5
purposes.6
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:7
SECTION 1.8
Chapter 1 of Title 28 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general9
provisions relative to the General Assembly, is amended by adding a new Code section to10
read as follows:11
"28-1-18.

On January 30, 2025, and annually thereafter, the legislative fiscal officer shall submit the13
names and residential addresses of members of the General Assembly by electronic means14
to the Department of Revenue and the Georgia Crime Information Center for inclusion of15
such information in motor vehicle records and the criminal justice information system.  The16
legislative fiscal officer shall provide the Department of Revenue and the Georgia Crime17

Information Center with the name and residential address of any member not previously18
submitted pursuant to this Code section within 30 days such member takes the oath of19
office. Any member of the General Assembly who elects to be excluded from the20
provisions of this Code section shall inform the legislative fiscal officer of such no later21
than ten days after he or she has taken the oath of office."22
SECTION 2.23
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.24
