77 To amend Chapter 1 of Title 31 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to

99 general provisions of health, so as to provide that a human egg or human embryo is not2
1010 considered an unborn child, a minor child, or a person for any purpose under law; to provide3
1111 for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.4
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:5
1313 SECTION 1.6
1414 Chapter 1 of Title 31 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general7
1515 provisions of health, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as follows:8

1818 (a) As used in this Code section, the term:10
1919 (1) 'Human egg' means the female reproductive cell. 11
2020 (2) 'Human embryo' means an individual fertilized ovum of the human species from the12
2121 single-cell stage to eight-week development.13
2222 (b) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, any human egg or human14
2323 embryo that exists outside of a uterus of a human body shall not, under any circumstances,15

2626 be considered an unborn child, a minor child, a natural person, or any other term that16
2727 connotes a human being for any purpose under state law."17
2828 SECTION 2.18
2929 This Act shall become effective upon the Governor's approval or upon its becoming law19
3030 without such approval.20
3131 SECTION 3. 21
3232 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.22
