Senate Resolution 460

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Julius G. Abraham; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Julius G. Abraham is a meritorious member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity2
Incorporated, Chi Gamma Gamma Chapter; and 3
WHEREAS, the Chi Gamma Gamma Chapter is a spirited service organization in Cobb4
County giving out thousands of dollars in scholarships each year; fundraising for the5
American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association; and supporting numerous6
institutions such as the Trinity Food Bank with over 1,000 volunteer man-hours, the Cobb7
County and Marietta school districts, the NAACP, the SCLC, the American Red Cross, and8
the Marietta Police Athletic League; and9
WHEREAS, Julius G. Abraham was named the 2023 Omega Man of the Year for the Cobb10
County Chi Gamma Gamma Chapter, the highest recognition a member of the fraternity can11
receive; and12
WHEREAS, the Omega Man of the Year award is given to a member in good standing who13
goes above and beyond to make the organization what it is today; and14

WHEREAS, his leadership and user friendly technology innovations have enhanced the
15
chapter's administrative operations and are now spreading to higher levels of Omega Psi Phi;16
and17
WHEREAS, this native of Statesboro, Georgia, now residing in Marietta, graduated from18
Southern Polytechnic University in Marietta, in Cobb County, and later earned a master's in19
business administration (MBA) at Georgia State University; and20
WHEREAS, Mr. Abraham is an established intercontinental telecommunications leader,21
playing a key role at Zayo Networks in furthering the company's standing as a power in22
global business-to-business telecommunications, facilitating fiber optics networks.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24
recognize and commend Julius G. Abraham for innovations to improve Omega Psi Phi25
business technology and his excellent, efficient, unselfish, and dedicated public service to26
the State of Georgia and extend best wishes for his continued telecommunications excellence27
and community service endeavors as a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. 28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Julius G.30
Abraham.31
