| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) is the state's largest3 |

| 10 | 10 | | organization for professional educators with more than 94,000 members who are teachers,4 |

| 11 | 11 | | administrators, and support personnel employed in every school system in Georgia; and5 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, PAGE was founded in the 1970s with the mission to make Georgia a better6 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | place for students to learn and for teachers to teach; and7 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, the PAGE Foundation sponsors the Academic Bowl for middle grades, the8 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Georgia Academic Decathlon for high school students, and the Student and Teacher9 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Achievement Recognition (STAR) program; and10 |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, PAGE has promoted teaching as a profession by sponsoring local chapters of11 |

| 18 | 18 | | the Future Georgia Educators in middle and high schools across the state; and12 |

| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, PAGE provides legal protection and professional learning to enhance13 |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | competence and confidence, build leadership, and increase student achievement; and14 |

| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, on February 20, 2024, PAGE members and leaders will gather at the state18 |

| 28 | 28 | | capitol to meet with their local legislators.19 |

| 29 | 29 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20 |

| 30 | 30 | | commend the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) for its advocacy and21 |

| 31 | 31 | | support of educators and education and recognize February 20, 2024, as PAGE Day at the22 |
