| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Hemophilia of Georgia is a nationally and internationally recognized nonprofit2 |

| 9 | 9 | | based in Sandy Springs that provides services and support to Georgians who have3 |

| 10 | 10 | | hemophilia, von Willebrand Disease, and other inherited bleeding disorders; and4 |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Hemophilia of Georgia began its work in 1973; and5 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Hemophilia of Georgia continues to meet its goal to help those who have6 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | bleeding disorders live as normally and productively as possible; and7 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Hemophilia of Georgia also serves as a member of the World Federation of8 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Hemophilia, enhancing the health and wellness of the bleeding disorder community by9 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | providing comprehensive health care, education, advocacy, and support of research; and10 |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Hemophilia of Georgia is in receipt of six-star status by the National11 |

| 18 | 18 | | Hemophilia Foundation and is recognized as a Chapter of Excellence; and12 |

| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Hemophilia of Georgia provides specialized pharmacy services, outreach15 |

|---|
| 26 | 26 | | educational services, and activities and programs to enhance care and quality of life for17 |

| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Hemophilia of Georgia's specialty pharmacies have dual accreditation from the19 |

| 30 | 30 | | Review Accreditation Commission, Incorporated (URAC), demonstrating a commitment to21 |

| 32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Hemophilia of Georgia provides children with inherited bleeding disorders the23 |

| 33 | 33 | | ability to live more normal lives, including opportunities to attend summer camp at Camp24 |

| 35 | 35 | | WHEREAS, Hemophilia of Georgia publishes an award-winning newsletter for its clients26 |

| 36 | 36 | | and their families to educate them on advances in treatment; produces protocols for the27 |

| 37 | 37 | | treatment of Hemophilia and von Willebrand Disease for physicians and other health care28 |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | providers; offers financial support for hemophilia treatment centers throughout Georgia to29 |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | ensure that they are fully staffed and equipped; and invests in critical research for inherited30 |

| 48 | 48 | | WHEREAS, Hemophilia of Georgia is a trusted resource to many health care providers and36 |

| 49 | 49 | | insurers providing training on bleeding disorders, including appropriate care and treatment.37 |

| 50 | 50 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body38 |
|---|
| 51 | 51 | | extend a warm greeting to Hemophilia of Georgia, its staff and volunteers, and the persons39 |
|---|
| 52 | 52 | | that the organization serves and convey to them this legislative body's heartiest40 |
|---|
| 53 | 53 | | commendation for their work on behalf of those individuals with hemophilia and other41 |
|---|
| 54 | 54 | | inherited bleeding disorders in this state, throughout our nation, and around the world.42 |

| 55 | 55 | | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed43 |
