1717 To amend Article 1 of Chapter 6 of Title 17 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated,

1919 relating to general provisions relative to bonds and recognizances, so as to include2
2020 aggravated assault as a bailable offense only before a superior court judge; to provide for3
2121 related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.4
2222 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:5

2424 Article 1 of Chapter 6 of Title 17 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to7
2525 general provisions relative to bonds and recognizances, is amended in subsection (a) of Code8
2626 Section 17-6-1, relating to when offenses bailable, procedure, schedule of bails, and appeal9
2727 bonds, by revising paragraphs (13) and (14) and by adding a new paragraph to read as10
2828 follows:11
2929 "(13) Violating Code Section 16-5-46; and

3131 (14) Violations of Chapter 15 of Title 16; and13
3232 (15) Aggravated assault upon a public safety officer while he or she is engaged in, or on14
3333 account of the performance of, his or her official duties by the discharge of a firearm."15
