1111 April 27, 2016 (Ga. L. 2016, p. 3799), so as to revise provisions related to the expenditure3
1212 of certain proceeds of such tax; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and4
1313 for other purposes.5
1414 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:6
1515 SECTION 1.7
1616 An Act to authorize the governing authority of the City of Thomasville to levy an excise tax8
1717 pursuant to subsection (b) of Code Section 48-13-51 of the O.C.G.A., approved April 27,9
1818 2016 (Ga. L. 2016, p. 3799), is amended by revising paragraph (1) of Section 3 as follows:10
1919 "(1) In each fiscal year during which a tax is collected pursuant to paragraph (2) of11
2020 subsection (b) of Code Section 48-13-51 of the O.C.G.A., an amount equal to not less12
2121 than 50 percent of the total amount of taxes collected that exceeds the amount of taxes13
2222 that would be collected at the rate to 5 percent shall be expended for promoting tourism,14
2323 conventions, and trade shows by the destination marketing organization designated by the15
2424 City of Thomasville or such other entity authorized to administer and expend the16

3131 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.20
