1515 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1616 AN ACT
1717 To amend Title 33 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to insurance, so as to

1919 include certain relatives within mammogram coverage criteria for females at risk for breast2
2020 cancer; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date and applicability; to3
2121 repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.4
2222 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:5
2323 SECTION 1.6
2424 Title 33 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to insurance, is amended by7
2525 revising paragraph (1) of subsection (a) of Code Section 33-29-3.2, relating to coverage of8
2626 mammograms, Pap smears, and prostate-specific antigen tests, and notice of coverage, as9
2727 follows:10
2828 "(1) 'Female at risk' means a woman:11
2929 (A) Who has a personal history of breast cancer;12
3030 (B) Who has a personal history of biopsy proven benign breast disease;13
3131 (C) Whose grandmother, mother, sister, or daughter
3232 Who has one or more first or14
3333 second degree relatives who has had breast cancer; or15
3434 (D) Who has not given birth prior to age 30."16

3939 Said title is further amended by revising paragraph (1) of subsection (a) of Code Section18
4040 33-30-4.2, relating to insurance coverage for mammograms, Pap smears, and19
4141 prostate-specific antigen tests, as follows:20
4242 "(1) 'Female at risk' means a woman:21
4343 (A) Who has a personal history of breast cancer;22
4444 (B) Who has a personal history of biopsy proven benign breast disease;23
4545 (C) Whose grandmother, mother, sister, or daughter
4646 Who has one or more first or24
4747 second degree relatives who has had breast cancer; or25
4848 (D) Who has not given birth prior to age 30."26
4949 SECTION 3.27
5050 This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2025, and shall apply to all policies or contracts28
5151 issued, delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed in this state on or after such date.29
5252 SECTION 4.30
5353 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.31
