25 LC 112 2769 House Resolution 109 By: Representatives Efstration of the 104 th , Hugley of the 141 st , Cheokas of the 151 st , Greene of the 154 th , Silcox of the 53 rd , and others A RESOLUTION Commending the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and their radio and television station 1 members; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, the nation's first and oldest broadcast3 association, works diligently to represent the interests of radio and television licensees and4 is composed of hundreds of radio and television broadcasters; and5 WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and its television and radio station6 members have consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to their communities by7 providing timely and accurate local news, engaging content, and life-saving information; and8 WHEREAS, during times of crisis, such as Hurricane Helene, broadcasters have played a9 crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Georgia residents by delivering critical10 updates, emergency alerts, and essential information; and11 WHEREAS, the commitment of these broadcasters to public service and their unwavering12 efforts to keep the public informed have significantly contributed to the resilience and13 preparedness of communities across Georgia; and14 H. R. 109 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2769 WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and its members have shown 15 exemplary professionalism, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility in their reporting and16 broadcasting, earning the trust and respect of their audiences; and17 WHEREAS, the Georgia House of Representatives recognizes the invaluable contributions18 of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and its television and radio station members to19 the State of Georgia and its residents.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body commend the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and their22 television and radio station members for their outstanding service, dedication, and23 commitment to their communities, especially during times of crisis like Hurricane Helene.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the26 Georgia Association of Broadcasters.27 H.
