18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Shannon Walker is a cardiovascular physician leader dedicated to2 |

19 | 19 | | improving health care outcomes and equity in underserved and diverse populations; and3 |

20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, she serves as an assistant professor at the Emory University School of Medicine4 |
---|
21 | 21 | | and an attending cardiologist at Grady Hospital, where she provides patient care, mentors5 |
---|
22 | 22 | | trainees, and leads initiatives focused on the prevention of heart disease; and6 |

23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, during her internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University, she was7 |

24 | 24 | | selected by the faculty to serve as a chief resident and led the program through the8 |

26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, she pursued sub-specialty training in cardiology at the University of California10 |
