1616 Commending the Archibald Bulloch Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the

1818 American Revolution on its 61st anniversary; and for other purposes.2
1919 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia was founded by General James Edward Oglethorpe, who3
2020 received a royal charter to establish the 13th American colony in honor of King George II4
2121 and led 116 pioneers aboard the HMS Anne, landing near present-day Savannah on February5
2222 12, 1733; and6
2323 WHEREAS, since its founding 292 years ago, Georgia has grown from a settlement of early7
2424 colonists to a thriving state with an estimated population of 11 million, transitioning from a8
2525 predominantly rural economy to the commercial, financial, and cultural center of the9
2626 Southeast; and10
2727 WHEREAS, Bulloch County was established in 1796 as Georgia's 21st county, formed from11
2828 St. Philip's Parish and named in honor of Archibald Bulloch, a delegate to the Continental12
2929 Congress of 1775 and Georgia's first governor in 1776; and13
3030 WHEREAS, the Archibald Bulloch Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the14
3131 American Revolution was organized on February 29, 1964, with 17 charter members,15

4040 WHEREAS, for more than six decades, the Archibald Bulloch Chapter has demonstrated21
4141 leadership at the local and state levels, contributed to national projects, and diligently worked22
4242 to uphold the objectives of historic preservation, education, and patriotism; and23
4343 WHEREAS, the chapter actively assists and encourages women in researching their24
4444 genealogy to identify patriots who served in the American Revolutionary War from April 19,25
4545 1775, to September 3, 1783, or who provided military service support; and26
4646 WHEREAS, under the leadership of Regent Martha Ann Tanner for the 2024-2026 term, the27
4747 Archibald Bulloch Chapter continues to promote awareness of Georgia's rich history and the28
4848 significance of the state's founding; and29
4949 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this distinguished organization be30
5050 appropriately honored.31
5151 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that32
5252 the members of this body commend the Archibald Bulloch Chapter of the National Society33
5353 Daughters of the American Revolution upon the grand occasion of both its 61st anniversary34
5454 and this year's Georgia Day, which the chapter will celebrate on February 13, 2025, with an35
5555 open luncheon in Statesboro, Georgia.36

5858 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized

6060 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the38
