1616 Recognizing and commending the Epilepsy Foundation Georgia for its dedication to epilepsy

1818 awareness and advocacy as well as its work toward improving access to services for2
1919 individuals living with epilepsy across the State of Georgia; and for other purposes.3
2020 WHEREAS, February 10 is recognized as International Epilepsy Day, a day dedicated to4
2121 raising global awareness of epilepsy, advocating for those affected, and promoting efforts to5
2222 improve the lives of individuals living with epilepsy; and6
2323 WHEREAS, epilepsy is a neurological disorder affecting more than 110,000 residents in7
2424 Georgia, causing seizures that impact daily life and requiring recurring medical care, support,8
2525 and awareness; and9
2626 WHEREAS, the Epilepsy Foundation Georgia has been a staunch advocate for individuals10
2727 and families affected by epilepsy, providing essential services, resources, and educational11
2828 initiatives to improve their quality of life; and12
2929 WHEREAS, the Foundation works endlessly to raise public awareness about epilepsy,13
3030 eradicate stigma, and promote understanding of seizure disorders through community14
3131 outreach, educational programs, and advocacy efforts; and15

3434 WHEREAS, the organization facilitates access to critical healthcare services, support groups,

3636 and financial assistance programs, ensuring that individuals with epilepsy receive the17
3737 treatment and support they need regardless of economic status; and18
3838 WHEREAS, the Epilepsy Foundation Georgia collaborates with medical professionals,19
3939 policymakers, and community organizations to advance research, improve healthcare20
4040 policies, and expand services for those living with epilepsy; and21
4141 WHEREAS, the tireless efforts of the Foundation and its dedicated staff, volunteers, and22
4242 supporters have made a significant impact on the lives of thousands of Georgians by creating23
4343 a more inclusive and supportive community.24
4444 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25
4545 the members of this body recognize and commend the Epilepsy Foundation Georgia for its26
4646 invaluable work in promoting epilepsy awareness, advocating for individuals with epilepsy,27
4747 and improving access to essential services across the State of Georgia.28
4848 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29
4949 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the30
5050 Epilepsy Foundation Georgia.31
