A RESOLUTION
Congratulating The Woodbine Opry upon its 25th anniversary; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, The Woodbine Opry will celebrate 25 years of old-time music at the beautifully2
renovated "Old School" in Woodbine, Georgia, during the week of February 10, 2025; and3
WHEREAS, the celebration will begin on Monday, February 10, with a tribute to the original4
founders of The Woodbine Opry, featuring songs and stories reminiscent of its early days;5
and6
WHEREAS, on Thursday, February 13, the popular band Satilla Blue will perform, packing7
the Old School Auditorium with a full floor of dancers; and8
WHEREAS, the celebration will continue on Friday, February 14, with a bluegrass and9
Gospel jam session, followed by an electric country music dance night on Saturday, February10
15, to conclude the festivities; and11
WHEREAS, although the Old School Auditorium seats fewer than 200 patrons, The12
Woodbine Opry's livestream and social media platforms reach 15,000 to 20,000 views each13
month from across the country and around the world; and14

WHEREAS, as one of the longest-running free live music venues in the State of Georgia,

The Woodbine Opry has provided weekly performances of bluegrass, Gospel, and classic16
country music at the Old Woodbine School for 25 years; and17
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable establishment be18
appropriately honored during this special time.19
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20
the members of this body congratulate The Woodbine Opry upon the grand occasion of its21
25th anniversary as well as extend best wishes for a jam-packed week of joyous musical22
celebration.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to The25
Woodbine Opry.26
