12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Effingham County borders on the Savannah River; includes three incorporated3 |

13 | 13 | | municipalities: Rincon, Springfield, and Guyton; has several smaller communities, including4 |

14 | 14 | | Meldrim, Faulkville, Pineora, Stillwell, Egypt, Clyo, Ebenezer, and Shawnee; and is widely5 |
---|
15 | 15 | | recognized for its outstanding quality of life; and6 |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, with a shared vision for growth and prosperity, Effingham County has greatly7 |
---|
17 | 17 | | increased collaboration among its municipalities, the County Commission, and key8 |
---|
18 | 18 | | community stakeholders in order to position itself as the future of the Coastal Empire; and9 |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Effingham County has further partnered with local schools, Savannah Technical10 |
---|
20 | 20 | | College, and other educational institutions to enhance workforce development and provide11 |
---|
21 | 21 | | students with opportunities to engage with growing industries; and12 |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, entities such as the Effingham County Health System ensure that access to high13 |
---|
23 | 23 | | quality health care remains a cornerstone of the community, and the county's investments in14 |
---|
24 | 24 | | vital infrastructure serve to bolster its growth and resilience; and15 |

29 | 29 | | Effingham County Chamber of Commerce has long worked to ensure the county's economic17 |

30 | 30 | | strength and well-being through its mission of operating as a member-driven organization18 |
---|
31 | 31 | | "focused on business advocacy and sustainable economic growth" in the region; and19 |

32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, for a number of years, the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, in20 |
---|
33 | 33 | | collaboration the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority, has sponsored21 |
---|
34 | 34 | | Effingham Day at the Georgia State Capitol, providing a platform for engagement with state22 |
---|
35 | 35 | | leaders and legislators; and23 |

36 | 36 | | WHEREAS, through their tireless efforts and steadfast commitment, Speaker Jon Burns,24 |
---|
37 | 37 | | Senator Billy Hickman, and Representative Bill Hitchens have played a vital role in25 |
---|
38 | 38 | | advancing Effingham County's legislative priorities, ensuring its continued economic and26 |
---|
39 | 39 | | infrastructural development; and27 |

40 | 40 | | WHEREAS, Effingham County Day will once again be observed on February 10, 2025,28 |

41 | 41 | | continuing its tradition of strengthening ties between county leadership and the State of29 |
---|
42 | 42 | | Georgia under the leadership of its CEO, Susan Kraut, and Chair, Kim Iler.30 |

43 | 43 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that31 |

44 | 44 | | the members of this body recognize February 10, 2025, as Effingham County Day at the32 |
---|
45 | 45 | | capitol and extend to the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce their commendation for33 |
---|
46 | 46 | | the chamber's many important contributions to the Effingham County community and the34 |

47 | 47 | | State of Georgia.35 |
