Gilley; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, Gordon L. Gilley has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours2 of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as3 evidenced dramatically by his 51 years of superlative service as part of the Boys & Girls4 Clubs of America; and5 WHEREAS, he currently serves as Chief Professional Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of6 Bartow County, a position he has held for 35 years; and7 WHEREAS, during his exemplary tenure with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, he has8 further served as part of the Training & Professional Advisory Committee, Georgia Alliance9 Compliance Committee, Georgia Area Council Advisory Committee, and Georgia Hall of10 Fame Advisory Committee; and11 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high12 ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom 13 H. R. 33 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2686 which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved 14 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and15 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for16 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and17 WHEREAS, Gordon L. Gilley has served with honor and distinction, and his vision and18 unyielding commitment the youth of this state will be sorely missed upon the occasion of his19 retirement; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body recognize and commend Gordon L. Gilley for his decades of24 efficient, effective, and dedicated service to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America; congratulate25 him upon the grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for26 continued health and happiness.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to29 Gordon L.
