1616 Recognizing the Association of Georgia General Aviation Airports as an industry association

1818 for general aviation airports in the State of Georgia and its corporate affiliates; and for other2
1919 purposes.3
2020 WHEREAS, there are 95 general aviation airports in the State of Georgia that are essential4
2121 to the state's transportation and economic infrastructure, supporting its diversified industries5
2222 including technology, manufacturing, distribution, tourism, and agriculture; these businesses6
2323 utilize Georgia's airports to transport employees, customers, vendors, and goods, which spur7
2424 economic development; and8
2525 WHEREAS, Georgia general aviation airports have an economic impact of more than $29
2626 billion dollars to the State of Georgia; and10
2727 WHEREAS, the Association of Georgia General Aviation Airports (AGGAA) was founded11
2828 in 2021 as a nonprofit agency to promote general aviation airports, provide information12
2929 sharing and education, and promote progressive legislation in order to expand and improve13
3030 the infrastructure needs of general aviation airports in the State of Georgia; and14

3333 WHEREAS, the association is composed of airport managers and those assigned those

3535 duties, students, government employees, industry consultants, and airport vendors in the16
3636 State of Georgia; and17
3737 WHEREAS, AGGAA is a major resource for those in the general aviation industry,18
3838 providing educational, scholarship, and networking opportunities for those interested in the19
3939 development of airports across the State of Georgia; and20
4040 WHEREAS, its board members are Chair Amber McCall, Toccoa-Stevens County Airport;21
4141 Vice Chair Davin Welter, Athens-Ben Epps Airport; Secretary Adam Webb, Covington22
4242 Municipal Airport; Past Chair Hope Macaluso, Atlanta Regional Airport-Falcon Field;23
4343 Treasurer Nathaniel Schattner, Newnan-Coweta County Airport; and Sonya Voice.24
4444 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25
4545 the members of this body recognize the Association of Georgia General Aviation Airports26
4646 for its many wonderful contributions on behalf of general aviation airports in the State of27
4747 Georgia and extend best wishes for future success.28
4848 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29
4949 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the30
5050 Association of Georgia General Aviation Airports.31
