A RESOLUTION
Urging all Georgia high schools to establish flag football programs for girls; and for other

purposes.2
WHEREAS, flag football for girls is one of the fastest growing sports in America; and3
WHEREAS, flag football can help girls develop critical life skills such as teamwork,4
leadership, and confidence while also providing beneficial physical activity; and5
WHEREAS, flag football is a low-contact sport, with no height or weight restrictions, that6
is open to girls of all skill levels; and7
WHEREAS, over 100 colleges have established varsity flag football programs for women8
and girls; and9
WHEREAS, the expansion of high school flag football programs for girls would be10
beneficial not only to the girls and women joining such programs but also for the community11
as a whole.12

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that

the members of this body urge all Georgia high schools to establish a flag football program14
for girls to expand its existing endeavors and opportunities.15
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized16
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the17
public and the press.18
