39 | 39 | | WHEREAS, the Phillip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic has recovered in excess of20 |

40 | 40 | | $55,000 in refunds for more than 200 low-income Georgians during the post-audit stage of21 |

41 | 41 | | their Internal Revenue Service disputes; and22 |

42 | 42 | | WHEREAS, the Immigration Clinic is the first of its kind in Georgia and one of the few in23 |

43 | 43 | | the Southeastern United States that offers representation for low-income individuals24 |

44 | 44 | | appearing before immigration courts and in detention proceedings; and25 |

45 | 45 | | WHEREAS, the Community Development and Entrepreneurship Clinic is the only in-house,26 |

46 | 46 | | law-school-based transactional law clinic in metropolitan Atlanta with a service emphasis27 |

47 | 47 | | on small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and grassroots coalitions; and28 |

48 | 48 | | WHEREAS, through the Mediation Clinic, students gain invaluable skills relating to29 |

62 | 62 | | highest in the nation, consistently surpassing the standards of excellence and service; and40 |

63 | 63 | | WHEREAS, it is both fitting and proper to acknowledge the transformative impact each of41 |

64 | 64 | | these clinics has on the lives of Georgians, to celebrate the sustained focus and dedication42 |

65 | 65 | | of all of the students and faculty members, and to express gratitude for the work that reflects43 |

67 | 67 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that45 |
