21 | 21 | | affected by crises and disasters through animal-assisted support; and5 |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, consisting of highly trained handlers and crisis-response canines, HOPE AACR6 |
---|
23 | 23 | | teams are prepared to support mental health professionals on location and adapt to7 |
---|
24 | 24 | | unpredictable situations, often deploying on short notice; and8 |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, HOPE AACR response teams are extensively trained in the Incident Command9 |

26 | 26 | | System, First Aid/CPR for both humans and canines, emotional first aid techniques, and10 |

27 | 27 | | trauma recognition, enabling them to respond effectively to emotionally and environmentally11 |
---|
28 | 28 | | intense situations; and12 |

29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, the organization's teams work alongside local and national response agencies13 |

30 | 30 | | such as Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster, FEMA, the National Organization for14 |

41 | 41 | | WHEREAS, in 2024 alone, HOPE AACR's Southeast Region logged close to 150 volunteer22 |

42 | 42 | | hours and engaged in 1,200 meaningful interactions with Georgia disaster victims; and23 |

43 | 43 | | WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstanding organization be24 |

45 | 45 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 |
