| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, the Georgia Council on Literacy is dedicated to improving literacy from birth4 |

| 14 | 14 | | through adulthood and recognizes that communities play a critical role in addressing low5 |

| 15 | 15 | | literacy rates; and6 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, the Georgia Reads Community Award was established to recognize7 |

| 17 | 17 | | communities across Georgia that have formed partnerships of two or more organizations,8 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | sustained for at least three years, with a strategic plan and measurable results in literacy9 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | improvement; and10 |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, the Charlton County Board of Education is a recipient of the Georgia Reads11 |

| 21 | 21 | | Community Award for its efforts in creating a common "literacy-based solution-focused12 |

| 22 | 22 | | mindset" to impact student achievement; and13 |

| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, its mission has been and will continue to be to share the importance of "Loving14 |

| 24 | 24 | | Literacy for Life" with Charlton families and their children; and15 |

| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, these initiatives have led to measurable improvements in reading proficiency,19 |

| 32 | 32 | | ensuring greater opportunities for success in education and career development; and20 |

| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, the dedication and hard work of the Charlton County Board of Education and21 |

| 34 | 34 | | its partners serve as an inspiration to others, demonstrating the power of community-driven22 |

| 36 | 36 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 |
