1313 A RESOLUTION
1414 Honoring the life and memory of Terrance Lamont Cooper; and for other purposes.

1616 WHEREAS, the members of this body wish to express their deepest and most sincere regret2
1717 at the passing of Terrance Lamont Cooper on February 16, 2025; and3
1818 WHEREAS, Terrance Lamont Cooper was born on June 3, 1971, in Queens, New York, and4
1919 later relocated to Georgia in 1985; and5
2020 WHEREAS, he was educated in the Bibb County School System, attending Florence Bernd6
2121 Elementary School and Appling B Middle School before graduating from Northeast High7
2222 School in 1989; and8
2323 WHEREAS, he pursued higher education at Valdosta State College before beginning his9
2424 professional career; and10
2525 WHEREAS, he answered the call to service by enlisting in the United States Army National11
2626 Guard, where he served honorably as a Material Storage and Handling Specialist with the12
2727 Detachment 1, Bravo Company, 148th Brigade; and13

3030 WHEREAS, as a Desert Storm Veteran (1990-1991), he demonstrated unwavering courage

3232 and commitment to the defense of this nation; and15
3333 WHEREAS, he embarked on a distinguished career at the Centers for Disease Control and16
3434 Prevention, beginning as an IT Helpdesk Support Contractor in 1999, and through his hard17
3535 work and dedication, he became a full-time employee in July 2024 as a Helpdesk Lead; and18
3636 WHEREAS, Terrance Lamont Cooper was a devoted son, friend, and colleague whose19
3737 kindness, dedication, and service will long be remembered by those who knew and loved20
3838 him.21
3939 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22
4040 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Terrance Lamont Cooper,23
4141 express their heartfelt condolences to his family and friends, and recognize his outstanding24
4242 contributions to both his community and the nation.25
4343 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26
4444 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the27
4545 family of Terrance Lamont Cooper.28
