| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, peanuts and peanut products are recognized throughout our nation and the3 |

| 20 | 20 | | world as an appetizing and nutritious food, providing protein and other nutrients as part of4 |

| 21 | 21 | | a well-balanced diet; and5 |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, the State of Georgia leads the United States in peanut production, producing 506 |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | percent of the total supply in the nation in 2024; and7 |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, our state further leads the nation in peanut exports, supplying nearly half of the8 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | United States' peanut exports and contributing more than $442 million toward our nation's9 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | balance of trade; and10 |

| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, peanut production is the largest single cash food row crop in Georgia with gross11 |

| 28 | 28 | | farm receipts totaling hundreds of millions of dollars; and12 |

| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, more than 250 Georgia companies engaged in warehousing, processing,13 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | manufacturing, and marketing totally depend on the peanut industry, and hundreds of other14 |
|---|

| 36 | 36 | | WHEREAS, the Georgia peanut industry has played a significant role in the economic17 |

| 37 | 37 | | growth and prosperity of our state, contributing an estimated $2 billion to the Georgia18 |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | economy and supporting the livelihood of more than 150,000 Georgians.19 |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20 |

| 40 | 40 | | the members of this body commend the Georgia peanut industry for its outstanding21 |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | contributions to the economic health of the State of Georgia and recognize March 4, 2025,22 |
|---|
