25 LC 112 3205 House Resolution 482 By: Representatives Gilliard of the 162 nd , Stephens of the 164 th , and Williams of the 168 th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Esther Perkins-Frazier; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Esther Perkins-Frazier on January 14, 2025; and3 WHEREAS, Esther Perkins-Frazier was born on March 3, 1956, in Savannah, Georgia, a4 beloved daughter of Earl Sr. and Juanita Perkins; and5 WHEREAS, an exemplary academic, she graduated with honors from the Savannah School6 of Interior Decorating and Design in 1976 and earned multiple certifications in early7 childhood education; and8 WHEREAS, during her distinguished 12-year-long career at WSOK Radio/WLVH Radio,9 she served as an announcer, news director, public relations director, and promotions director,10 using her platform to promote Gospel music and strengthen community engagement; and11 WHEREAS, her impact on Gospel music included leadership roles in church music12 ministries and 25 years of service as part of the Grammy-nominated Savannah Community13 Choir, appearing on 12 nationally distributed albums; and14 H. R. 482 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3205 WHEREAS, her passion for education touched the lives of countless students through her 15 work as a kindergarten teacher, paraprofessional, mentor, and tutor in Savannah-Chatham16 County Public Schools and local educational programs; and17 WHEREAS, her tireless advocacy for those in need was evident through her founding of18 Share the Harvest Community Food Pantry & Clothes Closet, her work in outreach ministries19 for the homeless, and her volunteer efforts with numerous charitable organizations dedicated20 to supporting women, children, and families; and21 WHEREAS, Esther Perkins-Frazier was blessed with two remarkable children, Bynikini and22 Jacquarze, as well as one wonderful granddaughter, Eliyanah; and23 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Esther Perkins-Frazier will long be24 remembered for her love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who25 had the great fortune of knowing her.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Esther Perkins-Frazier and28 express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the31 family of Esther Perkins-Frazier.32 H.
