A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Staff Sergeant (Ret.) Bridgett Renay Smith; and for other

purposes.2
WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant (Ret.) Bridgett Renay Smith valiantly and courageously served3
as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Navy for 24 years,4
and she continues to live by the Navy core values of honor, courage, and commitment; and5
WHEREAS, her many notable assignments include being recalled to active duty on6
September 27, 2001, after the terrorist attacks on our country, during which she participated7
in Operation Noble Eagle/Enduring Freedom at Naval Security Force Bahrain as a security8
patrolwoman; and9
WHEREAS, she currently serves her community as a member of the Military Sorority Delta10
Omicron Alpha, the American Legion Post 291, Veterans Helping Veterans, and the National11
Association of Black Military Women; and12
WHEREAS, in 2018, Staff Sergeant (Ret.) Bridgett Renay Smith started her company,13
Legacy Bridge Inc., where she takes on everything from merchandising sales and publishing14
to community outreach; and15

WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant (Ret.) Bridgett Renay Smith is a highly decorated veteran,

having received prestigious awards such as the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Armed17
Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and more; and18
WHEREAS, her selfless and heroic actions stand as a shining tribute to the strength of19
human spirit and willpower, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding20
accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished American be appropriately honored.21
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22
the members of this body recognize and commend Staff Sergeant (Ret.) Bridgett Renay23
Smith for her effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and24
this nation and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.25
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Staff27
Sergeant (Ret.) Bridgett Renay Smith.28
