1515 A RESOLUTION
1616 Recognizing and commending Johanna Caicedo; and for other purposes.

1818 WHEREAS, Johanna Caicedo has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the2
1919 vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare3
2020 of the citizens of Georgia; and4
2121 WHEREAS, Johanna was born in Cali, Colombia, and migrated to the United States in June5
2222 1990; and 6
2323 WHEREAS, as the first member of her family to attend college, Johanna proudly graduated7
2424 Magna Cum Laude from the New York College in 2001, with a Bachelor of Arts in8
2525 psychology; and9
2626 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,10
2727 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced11
2828 dramatically by her over 20 years of superlative service and dedication to her community;12

3232 WHEREAS, Johanna's career in public service began after interning with the Department of

3434 Education of the City of New York, which lead her to working with the AIDS Center of15
3535 Queens County, in Jamaica, New York, where she advocated for healthy lifestyles within the16
3636 LGBTQ community; and 17
3737 WHEREAS, after relocating the Gwinnett County in 2015, she began working with CETPA,18
3838 a mental health clinic for adults and adolescents in the Latinx community; and 19
3939 WHEREAS, while working at CETPA, Johanna took part in numerous community panels,20
4040 such as the Gwinnett Juvenile Court and the Dekalb Juvenile Court, the first Hispanic panel21
4141 in the county; and 22
4242 WHEREAS, currently, she proudly serves as an Outreach Coordinator for Lifting Latinx23
4343 Voices Initiative, the only Latinx-led program in Georgia that focuses on addressing24
4444 comprehensive reproductive and sexual health issues faced by Latinx families; and25
4545 WHEREAS, Johanna's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience26
4646 and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state27
4747 have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and28
4848 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for29
4949 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and30
5050 WHEREAS, Johanna has served with honor and distinction, and her vision and unyielding31
5151 commitment to her community have set the standard for public service; and32

5454 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this

5656 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.34
5757 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that35
5858 the members of this body recognize and commend Johanna Caicedo for her efficient,36
5959 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most37
6060 sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.38
6161 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized39
6262 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to40
6363 Johanna Caicedo.41
