99 Recognizing January 28, 2025, as Bryan Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.

1111 WHEREAS, presented by the Bryan County Chamber of Commerce and the Development2
1212 Authority of Bryan County, Bryan Day represents an opportunity to celebrate the rich history3
1313 and remarkable contributions of Bryan County, Georgia; and4
1414 WHEREAS, created on December 19, 1793, and named after American Revolutionary War5
1515 partisan Jonathan Bryan, Bryan County is located less than 30 minutes from Savannah-Hilton6
1616 Head International Airport and the Port of Savannah; and7
1717 WHEREAS, Bryan County is unique in that one-third of the community is occupied by Fort8
1818 Stewart, the largest army installation east of the Mississippi River and home of the 3rd9
1919 Infantry Division; and10
2020 WHEREAS, the City of Pembroke serves as the county seat and offers residents a rural11
2121 setting in the northern portion of the county, while the City of Richmond Hill covers the12
2222 southern end of the county and rests on the Georgia coast; and13

2525 WHEREAS, Bryan County was named the fastest-growing county in Georgia following the

2727 last census, experiencing a population increase of 48 percent between 2010 and 2020; and15
2828 WHEREAS, the county's rapid population growth is largely attributed to its top-performing16
2929 public school system, which attracts and supports families seeking high-quality education for17
3030 their children; and18
3131 WHEREAS, the Bryan County Chamber of Commerce serves as a recognized leader in19
3232 promoting business, economic and community development, and public policies that balance20
3333 economic prosperity with quality of life; and21
3434 WHEREAS, with its thriving communities, rich history, and outstanding growth, Bryan22
3535 County exemplifies the values of the State of Georgia.23
3636 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24
3737 the members of this body recognize January 28, 2025, as Bryan Day at the state capitol.25
3838 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26
3939 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the27
4040 public and the press.28
