| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Michelle Au is an anesthesiologist at Emory-St. Joseph's Hospital, in2 |

| 10 | 10 | | Atlanta, Georgia, and a member of the Georgia House of Representatives; and3 |

| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, born and raised in New York City, she graduated magna cum laude from4 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Wellesley College in 1999, with a degree in Psychobiology, and received her medical degree5 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | in 2003, from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, in New York;6 |
|---|

| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, in addition to her clinical work, Dr. Au is a public speaker and published writer8 |

| 16 | 16 | | whose work has appeared in numerous prestigious publications; and9 |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Au was proud to be the first Asian woman elected to the Georgia State10 |

| 18 | 18 | | Senate, where she served from 2021 through 2023; and11 |

| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, in her first term in the Georgia General Assembly she was named 2022 State12 |

| 20 | 20 | | Legislator of the Year by Everytown/Moms Demand Action for her work on advancing gun13 |

| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Au, doing what she would do for any of her patients, answered a very late19 |

| 30 | 30 | | call from Representative Teddy Reese regarding his mother and a very severe medical20 |

| 32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, thanks to the leadership, care, compassion, and direction of Dr. Au, Mrs. Carrie22 |

| 35 | 35 | | WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for25 |

| 37 | 37 | | WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this27 |
