| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Lowndes County was created by an act of the Georgia General Assembly on3 |

| 18 | 18 | | December 23, 1825, marking 200 years of rich history and progress; and4 |

| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, the county was named in honor of William J. Lowndes, a distinguished5 |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | statesman from South Carolina; and6 |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Valdosta was established in 1860 and has since played a significant role in the7 |

| 22 | 22 | | county's economic and infrastructural growth; and8 |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, today, Lowndes County is home to a thriving population of approximately9 |

| 24 | 24 | | 120,700 residents and serves as a regional hub for economic growth and vitality; and10 |

| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, the county boasts key industries such as advanced manufacturing, agribusiness,11 |
