| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, from an early age Morris Roberts has had tremendous musical talent and a2 |

| 10 | 10 | | passion to share his talent with others; and 3 |

| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, throughout high school he participated in the Glee Club; was the marching4 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | band's drum major and student director; played alto sax and was lead singer of the local5 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | group, The Soul Sensations; and sang in the choir at Tennille Grove Baptist Church in6 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Tennille, Georgia; and7 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, when Morris served in the United State Marine Corps, in Okinawa, Japan, he8 |

| 16 | 16 | | worked as a guest DJ at radio station KSBK, Naha, Japan, and he found a way to sing by9 |

| 17 | 17 | | sitting in with various Japanese Bands; and10 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, singing is his passion; whether with the church choir, the bands of Okinawa,11 |

| 19 | 19 | | local singing groups like Original Southern Travelers in New Jersey gospel group, open mike12 |

| 20 | 20 | | nights, or talent shows, he would always find a place to sing; and13 |

| 26 | 26 | | Complex in Orange, New Jersey, and started a singing career of his own; and16 |

| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, outside of music, Morris continues to uplift the community of Tennille by17 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | assisting in political campaigns, education and alumni affairs, and feeding the hungry; and18 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this19 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.20 |

| 31 | 31 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 |
