25 LC 39 4782 House Resolution 813 By: Representatives Efstration of the 104 th , Donatucci of the 105 th , Burns of the 159 th , Hitchens of the 161 st , and Crowe of the 118 th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life of Trooper Jimmy Cenescar and dedicating a bridge in his memory; and 1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Trooper Jimmy Cenescar was highly regarded by the citizens of his community3 and state and by local government officials as a person of unquestioned integrity and4 dedication to the sound principles of law enforcement; and5 WHEREAS, Trooper Cenescar was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti, on August 8, 1995, the6 beloved son of Helas and Wisleine Cenescar; and 7 WHEREAS, he began his career in law enforcement with the Atlanta Police Department,8 where he earned recognition and honors for his 2022 rescue of a driver who had driven off9 a bridge; and10 WHEREAS, Trooper Cenescar joined the Department of Public Safety and graduated from11 the 114th Georgia State Patrol Trooper School in 2023 and exhibited extraordinary devotion12 to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all his13 duties; and14 H. R. 813 - 1 - 25 LC 39 4782 WHEREAS, Trooper Cenescar's life was tragically cut short in the line of duty on 15 January 28, 2024; and16 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable and distinguished17 Georgian be recognized appropriately by dedicating a bridge in his memory.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL19 ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the bridge on State Route 324 over Interstate 85 in20 Gwinnett County is dedicated as the Trooper Jimmy Cenescar Memorial Bridge.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and22 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Trooper Jimmy Cenescar23 Memorial Bridge.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the26 family of Trooper Jimmy Cenescar and to the Department of Transportation.27 H.
