1919 WHEREAS, the AgriTech Solutions Program in Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS)will3
2020 play vital role in preparing the next generation of agriculturists to develop sustainable and4
2121 profitable local food systems; and 5
2222 WHEREAS, the Office of STEM and Innovation at CCPS is dedicated to promoting6
2323 excellence in STEM education and fostering innovative learning environments; and7
2424 WHEREAS, the office has effectively supported the STEM certification process for schools8
2525 within the district, resulting in 11 STEM Certified schools and the enhancement of STEM9
2626 and Computer Science programs across more than 28 schools, including over 13 K-510
2727 computer science labs; and11
2828 WHEREAS, the Office of STEM and Innovation has actively supported agricultural12
2929 initiatives, including hydroponics, aeroponics, and traditional gardening, thus broadening13
3030 student understanding and engagement in sustainable agricultural practices; and14

3333 WHEREAS, these agricultural programs not only provide practical skills but also introduce

3535 students to a range of career opportunities within the agricultural sector, emphasizing the16
3636 importance of sustainability and innovation; and17
3737 WHEREAS, the office has been instrumental in forging and sustaining partnerships between18
3838 schools, industry leaders, and institutions of higher education, thereby enriching the19
3939 educational landscape with opportunities for practical application and career readiness; and 20
4040 WHEREAS, Mundy's Mill High School students engage in the Agriteens Club using the21
4141 Next Steps Youth Entrepreneurship Program's game-based curriculum called Community22
4242 On-Demand; and23
4343 WHEREAS, through project-based initiatives, students develop hands-on agricultural skills,24
4444 explore sustainable farming practices and gain the business acumen needed to pursue careers25
4545 in agribusiness, agritech and agritourism; and 26
4646 WHEREAS, through strong partnerships with industry and higher education, CCPS provides27
4747 real-world learning experiences that promote career readiness leadership in sustainability and28
4848 economic innovation; and 29
4949 WHEREAS, Georgia Women in Agriculture Association has recognized CCPS' impact on30
5050 STEM in Agriculture, thereby combining their invaluable support and continued31
5151 collaboration to shape future leaders in the field.32
5252 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that33
5353 the members of this body recognize the AgriTech Solutions Program in Clayton County34
5454 Public Schools for the outstanding positive impact it has made on the students of Georgia.35
