16 | 16 | | Article III, Section IX of the Constitution is amended in Paragraph VI by adding a new9 |

17 | 17 | | subparagraph to read as follows:10 |

18 | 18 | | "(s) The General Assembly may provide by general law for the creation of the Safe |

20 | 20 | | Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Fund from which funds shall be disbursed for the12 |
---|
21 | 21 | | enforcement of laws regarding the protection of the citizens of this state from carcinogens13 |

22 | 22 | | and toxic substances in drinking water and the protection of the citizens of this state from14 |
---|
23 | 23 | | exposure to carcinogens and toxic substances by businesses in the course of doing business. 15 |

24 | 24 | | The General Assembly shall be authorized to dedicate and deposit revenues raised from16 |
---|
25 | 25 | | specified sources to the fund and shall be authorized to appropriate other funds to the fund. 17 |

28 | 28 | | Such fund and its proceeds shall not be subject to Article VII, Section III, Paragraph II;18 |

42 | 42 | | All persons desiring to vote in favor of ratifying the proposed amendment shall vote "Yes." |

45 | 45 | | such amendment shall be ratified as provided in said Paragraph of the Constitution, it shall31 |
