A RESOLUTION
Encouraging the Department of Education to implement a public awareness campaign for

grade levels K-12 regarding blockchain, cryptocurrency, and Web3; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, technology literacy is an important skill at all ages, and innovative technology3
continues to emerge; and4
WHEREAS, blockchain computation represents the future of how the world interacts online5
and shares information through a permanent record of transactions on an open ledger; and6
WHEREAS, cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, is becoming increasingly accepted and7
commonly used in lieu of traditional currency and can break down barriers by allowing8
people around the world to transact with each other for goods and services without the9
restrictions of traditional financial systems; and10
WHEREAS, Web3 represents the future of the internet and will revolutionize how businesses11
interact with each other, provide more secure interactions between users, and allow for12
additional transparency in records of transactions between people and entities; and13

WHEREAS, art is now being created, stored, and distributed as nonfungible tokens, and the

digitized art market is only just beginning; and15
WHEREAS, making children aware of the potential of these technologies and encouraging16
them to use these technologies from a young age will help children utilize them more17
effectively in the future.18
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19
the members of this body encourage the Department of Education to implement a public20
awareness campaign for grade levels K-12 regarding blockchain, cryptocurrency, and Web321
so students are able to recognize the innovations of such technologies at a young age so as22
to utilize them more effectively in the future.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the25
Department of Education.26
