| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, in 1923, John F. Archbold purchased a 5.81-acre parcel on Gordon Avenue for3 |

| 18 | 18 | | the construction of a new hospital for Thomasville and Thomas County; and4 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, in 1923, a Board of Trustees was formed, a charter of incorporation was5 |

| 20 | 20 | | obtained, and a hospital director was selected; and6 |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, the John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital was dedicated on June 30, 1925, and7 |

| 22 | 22 | | accepted its first patient in transfer from the City Hospital on July 3, 1925; and8 |

| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, the John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital has steadfastly maintained its status9 |

| 24 | 24 | | as a leading medical facility in Southwest Georgia, offering cancer, surgical, heart, imaging,10 |

|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, the John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital has maintained a position at the12 |

| 27 | 27 | | forefront of medical research and investigation on a level that vastly supersedes the13 |

| 36 | 36 | | provide safe, innovative, and compassionate care for its communities and the surrounding19 |

| 37 | 37 | | region, with a vision to promote a healthier region, stronger communities, meaningful work,20 |
|---|

| 39 | 39 | | WHEREAS, the John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital is the anchor of a healthcare system22 |

| 40 | 40 | | that serves 15 counties in Southwest Georgia.23 |

| 41 | 41 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 |

| 42 | 42 | | the members of this body recognize the centennial anniversary of the John D. Archbold25 |

| 43 | 43 | | Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia, and extend their sincere congratulations to its26 |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | leadership, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, technologists, therapists, and all other27 |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | administrative and support personnel who have contributed to the healthcare and well-being28 |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | of the people of Thomasville, Thomas County, and the surrounding areas of Southwest29 |
