A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the 2024-2025 Pickens County Dragonettes for their excellent

season; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Pickens County Dragonettes secured the number one overall seed in the3
state playoffs; and4
WHEREAS, the Dragonettes ended their stellar season 27-3 in the Elite Eight of the Georgia5
state playoff; and6
WHEREAS, the Dragonettes overcame all expectations and succeeded through many7
obstacles including losing five seniors and head coach Brandon Thomas; and8
WHEREAS, this team continued the tradition of excellence for Dragonettes Basketball by9
demonstrating hard work, dedication, and perseverance; and10
WHEREAS, sports and competition are core to the development of maturity in young men11
and women; and12

WHEREAS, the Dragonettes showed impressive team cohesion and sportsmanship

throughout the season.14
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that15
the members of this body recognize and commend the the girls of the 2024-2025 Pickens16
County Dragonettes basketball team.17
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized18
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the19
Dragonettes basketball team.20
