A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Code Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to

special license plates promoting or supporting certain worthy agencies, funds, or nonprofit2
corporations with proceeds disbursed to the general fund and the agency, fund, or nonprofit3
corporation, so as to establish a specialty license plate honoring alumni of Alabama State4
University; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date; to provide for5
compliance with constitutional requirements; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other6
purposes.7
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:8
SECTION 1.9
Code Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to special license10
plates promoting or supporting certain worthy agencies, funds, or nonprofit corporations with11
proceeds disbursed to the general fund and the agency, fund, or nonprofit corporation, is12
amended by adding a new paragraph to subsection (l) to read as follows:13
"(71) A special license plate honoring alumni of Alabama State University. The funds

raised by the sale of this special license plate shall be disbursed to the Alabama State15
University Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter."16

SECTION 2.

In accordance with the requirements of Article III, Section IX, Paragraph VI(n) of the18
Constitution of the State of Georgia, this Act shall not become law unless it receives the19
requisite two-thirds' majority vote in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.20
SECTION 3.21
This Act shall become effective on January 1, 2026.22
SECTION 4.23
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.24
