77 To amend Part 4 of Article 3 of Chapter 1 of Title 40 of the Official Code of Georgia

99 Annotated, relating to ride share network services and transportation referral services, so as2
1010 to provide for additional requirements upon transportation referral service providers and ride3
1111 share network services relative to driver safety and hiring and the privacy of personal4
1212 information for drivers and passengers; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting5
1313 laws; and for other purposes.6
1414 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:7
1515 SECTION 1.8
1616 Part 4 of Article 3 of Chapter 1 of Title 40 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated,9
1717 relating to ride share network services and transportation referral services, is amended in10
1818 Code Section 40-1-192, relating to transportation referral service provider registration11
1919 requirement, licensure, exemptions, and additional requirements, by revising subsection (d)12
2020 to delete "and" at the end of paragraph (9), replace the period with "; and" at the end of13
2121 paragraph (10), and add three new paragraphs to read as follows:14
2222 "(11) Provide a manner for informing a driver utilized by such transportation referral

2424 service provider whether the location where such driver is to provide services has a violent16

2727 crime rate greater than the current national average based upon statistics compiled by the17
2828 Federal Bureau of Investigation's Uniform Crime Reporting Program;18
2929 (12) Ensure security and privacy of personal information collected for drivers and19
3030 passengers; and20
3131 (13) Provide for a grievance process for any driver utilized by such transportation referral21
3232 service provider."22

3434 Said part is further amended in Code Section 40-1-193, relating to ride share network service24
3535 registration requirement, licensure, required list of all ride share drivers, additional25
3636 requirements for ride share network service businesses and drivers, and law enforcement26
3737 access to digital information in smart phone of driver, by revising subsection (c) to delete27
3838 "and" at the end of paragraph (4), replace the period with "; and" at the end of paragraph (5),28
3939 and add three new paragraphs to read as follows:29
4040 "(6) Provide a manner for informing a driver utilized by such ride share network service30
4141 whether the location where such driver is to provide services has a violent crime rate31
4242 greater than the current national average based upon statistics compiled by the Federal32
4343 Bureau of Investigation's Uniform Crime Reporting Program;33
4444 (7) Ensure security and privacy of personal information collected for drivers and34
4545 passengers; and35
4646 (8) Provide for a grievance process for any driver utilized by such ride share network36
4747 service."37
4848 SECTION 3.38
4949 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.39
