5	5	AN ACT
6	6	To amend an Act providing for the compensation of certain county officers and officials of

8	8	DeKalb County, approved March 31, 1976 (Ga. L. 1976, p. 3986), as amended, so as to2
9	9	revise the compensation of certain judges, judicial officers, and county officers; to make3
10	10	conforming changes related to court names changed by general law; to provide for related4
11	11	matters; to provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.5
12	12	BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:6
13	13	SECTION 1.7
14	14	An Act providing for the compensation of certain county officers and officials of DeKalb8
15	15	County, approved March 31, 1976 (Ga. L. 1976, p. 3986), as amended, is amended by adding9
16	16	a new section to read as follows:10
17	17	"SECTION 1.2.11
18	18	Pursuant to Section 1 of an Act to amend Article 1 of Chapter 6 of Title 15 of the12
19	19	O.C.G.A., relating to general provisions regarding superior courts, approved May 6, 202413
20	20	(Ga. L. 2024, p. 738), as of January 1, 2025, the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit shall be14
21	21	known and may be referred to as the DeKalb Judicial Circuit. Any reference in this Act15

24	24	to the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit shall be deemed to refer to the DeKalb Judicial

26	26	Circuit."17
27	27	SECTION 2.18
28	28	Said Act is further amended by revising Sections 2 and 2.1 as follows:19
29	29	"SECTION 2.20
30	30	Notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the contrary, the annual salary of each of21
31	31	the officials of DeKalb County listed below shall be the following percentages of the gross22
32	32	salary as defined in Section 1: 23
33	33	(1) Judge of the Probate Court..................................................................................95% 24
34	34	(2) Clerk of the Superior Court.................................................................................75% 25

49	49	Notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the contrary, the annual salary of each of37
50	50	the officials of DeKalb County listed below shall be the following percentages of the gross38
51	51	salary as defined in Section 1:39

59	59	(a) The annual salary of the clerk of the State Court of DeKalb County shall be established47
60	60	by the judges of the State Court of DeKalb County, subject to approval by the governing48
61	61	authority of DeKalb County, and the clerk of the State Court of DeKalb County shall be49
62	62	compensated as an employee of DeKalb County in all other respects.50
63	63	(b) Each part-time associate judge of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County shall be paid51
64	64	an hourly rate commensurate with the annual salary provided in this Act to a full-time52
65	65	associate judge of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County.53
66	66	(c) Each judge or official who receives compensation from DeKalb County funds pursuant54
67	67	to this Act shall also receive from DeKalb County the same longevity pay that is provided55
68	68	to all county employees. Such longevity pay shall be calculated based upon the total years56
69	69	of service that the judge or official has provided as a judge, official, or employee of57
70	70	DeKalb County."58

72	72	This Act shall become effective on August 1, 2025.60
