55 Commending Richard Coleman; and for other purposes.

77 WHEREAS, Richard Coleman has dedicated over 30 years to law enforcement as a Georgia2
88 peace officer, earning certification as a Georgia law enforcement executive administrator and3
99 serving in leadership roles such as chief of police, chief of internal affairs, assistant chief of4
1010 police, and police operations commander; and5
1111 WHEREAS, he has demonstrated extensive expertise in staffing, budgeting, policy creation,6
1212 outsourcing, resource management, and community engagement throughout his distinguished7
1313 career; and8
1414 WHEREAS, Richard Coleman is an honest and dedicated public servant who strives for9
1515 excellence in all of his endeavors and whose primary concern is the welfare and safety of the10
1616 citizens of Chatham County; and11
1717 WHEREAS, he is highly regarded by the citizens of his community and by state and local12
1818 government officials as a man of unquestioned integrity and dedication to the administration13
1919 of justice and sound principles of law enforcement; and14

2222 WHEREAS, this spirited law enforcement professional has exhibited extraordinary devotion

2424 to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail throughout16
2525 his exemplary career; and17
2626 WHEREAS, his inspiring commitment to the welfare of others stands as an outstanding18
2727 example of the positive effect law enforcement professionals have on the lives and19
2828 well-being of others; and20
2929 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that gratitude is expressed for the unique and21
3030 often unheralded contributions of local law enforcement professionals on behalf of the22
3131 citizens of this state.23
3232 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24
3333 commend the care, courage, sympathy, and selfless dedication exhibited by Richard Coleman25
3434 in carrying out the difficult duties of his vocation and express their utmost appreciation for26
3535 having so purely and truly defined for others the meaning of public servant.27
3636 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed28
3737 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Richard Coleman.29
