| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, the addiction professional workforce represents more than 1,500 counselors,5 |

| 12 | 12 | | educators, and other addiction-focused health care professionals; and6 |

| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, addiction professionals specialize in prevention, intervention, treatment,7 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | recovery support, and education; and8 |

| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, addiction professionals work across a wide variety of settings, including9 |

| 16 | 16 | | outpatient care centers, mental health and substance use disorder facilities, general medicine10 |

| 17 | 17 | | and surgical hospitals, psychiatric and substance use disorder hospitals, private practices,11 |

| 18 | 18 | | clinics, prisons, probation agencies, juvenile detention facilities, halfway houses,12 |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association provides evidence-based care17 |

| 27 | 27 | | for substance use disorders, training, and competencies for delivering quality care while18 |

| 28 | 28 | | saving lives, restoring families, and strengthening communities across Georgia.19 |

| 29 | 29 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20 |

| 30 | 30 | | congratulate the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association for 45 years of service to the21 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | people of Georgia and commend its leadership in service to all those across Georgia seeking22 |
