99 WHEREAS, Future Business Leaders of America Inc. (FBLA) is a non-profit educational3
1010 organization whose first chapter was established in Johnson City, Tennessee, in 1942; and4
1111 WHEREAS, Iowa became FBLA's first state chapter in 1947; and5
1212 WHEREAS, Alfred Ely Beach High School officially chartered its FBLA local chapter in6
1313 October 1979; and7
1414 WHEREAS, FBLA includes more than 250,000 members and advisers in 4,600 chapters8
1515 nationwide in middle schools, high schools, colleges, universities, career and technical9
1616 schools, and private business schools; and10
1717 WHEREAS, FBLA is a professional business organization dedicated to bringing business11
1818 and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and12
1919 career development programs; and13

2222 WHEREAS, FBLA members perform community service activities and strive to build a

2424 student's understanding of the realities of the modern business world; and15
2525 WHEREAS, FBLA teaches middle school, high school, and college students basic business16
2626 and leadership principles as well as assists them in the transition from school to work.17
2727 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body18
2828 recognize February 9-15, 2025, as Future Business Leaders of America Week at the state19
2929 capitol.20
3030 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed21
3131 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the22
3232 press.23
