25 LC 112 3037 Senate Resolution 247 By: Senators Gooch of the 51st, Kennedy of the 18th, Anavitarte of the 31st, Hatchett of the 50th, Watson of the 1st and others ADOPTED SENATE A RESOLUTION Commending Kelly Loeffler; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, Kelly Loeffler was appointed by the President of the United States to serve as2 the Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA), bringing her record of public3 service and leadership to the role; and4 WHEREAS, Kelly Loeffler was raised on a farm in Illinois, where her family grew soybeans5 and raised cattle, and she served in her local church and 4-H club prior to attending the6 University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign to earn her bachelor's degree and DePaul7 University for her Master of Business Administration; and8 WHEREAS, Kelly Loeffler has previously served as a United States Senator from Georgia,9 during which time she championed policies to support small businesses, strengthen the10 economy, and empower American workers; and11 WHEREAS, she further served as an advocate for tax reform, deregulation, and measures to12 expand economic opportunities for communities around the country; and13 S. R. 247 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3037 WHEREAS, Kelly Loeffler's dedication to public service is further demonstrated by her 14 commitment to promoting access to education, healthcare, and workforce development15 initiatives that equip small business owners with the tools they need to succeed; and16 WHEREAS, her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic was instrumental in securing17 critical support for small businesses through programs such as the Paycheck Protection18 Program, which saved countless jobs and helped businesses remain operational; and 19 WHEREAS, Kelly Loeffler has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to fiscal20 responsibility, transparency, and accountability in government, earning the trust and respect21 of her constituents.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body23 commend Kelly Loeffler for her distinguished career, impactful tenure in the United States24 Senate, and her ongoing efforts as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration25 to strengthen and support American small businesses.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed27 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the28 press.29 S.
