25 LC 112 2663 Senate Resolution 26 By: Senators Summers of the 13th, Robertson of the 29th, Gooch of the 51st, Kennedy of the 18th, Tillery of the 19th and others A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Bryce Alan Johnson; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of district attorney Bryce Alan Johnson on December 2, 2024; and3 WHEREAS, Bryce Alan Johnson was born on January 6, 1972, in Sylvester, Georgia, a4 beloved son of Donnie Lee Johnson and Terry Raines Achord; and5 WHEREAS, Bryce Alan Johnson showed an affinity for politics from a young age, and his6 commitment to his beliefs as well as his ability to debate the most divisive political topics7 with respect and good humor were inspirational to those around him; and8 WHEREAS, in his adult life, he served in various capacities in local, district, and state9 Republican organizations; as solicitor-general for several towns; and as district attorney of10 the Tifton Judicial Circuit; and11 S. R. 26 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2663 WHEREAS, outside of politics, Bryce Alan Johnson found joy in watching his favorite 12 teams play, coaching his son's sports endeavors, and serving as "The Professor" to the13 Chick-Fil-A Friday Night Football radio show; and14 WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Bryce Alan Johnson was an active member of15 the First Methodist Church of Tifton, where he served as president of the church council and16 was a member of several committees; and17 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Erika Stribling Johnson, and was18 blessed with a remarkable child, William Alan Johnson; and19 WHEREAS, he will be remembered for his encyclopedic knowledge of facts both important20 and trivial; Bryce Alan Johnson could always recite a team roster, a school's mascot, a county21 seat, or a school's most famous player; and 22 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Bryce Alan Johnson will long be23 remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who24 had the great fortune of knowing him.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26 join in honoring the life and memory of Bryce Alan Johnson and express their deepest and27 most sincere regret at his passing.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of30 Bryce Alan Johnson.31 S.
