| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, a lifelong resident of the Sherman Town community in Stone Mountain,3 |

| 9 | 9 | | Georgia, James S. Clark has faithfully served his fellow citizens as a chauffeur, care giver,4 |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | handyman, and dedicated provider of meals for the homebound and those in need, preparing5 |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | weekly meals and cooking for the Forever Young Senior Group twice a month; and6 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, he has further served his community as president of the Stone Mountain Day7 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Committee for over 30 years; actively participated in Piney Grove Lodge 585, where he8 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | served a term as Worshipful Master; and contributed to local sports as a player-coach for the9 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Stone Mountain A's softball team for 15 years; and10 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, he is a lifelong member of St. Paul A.M.E.11 |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Church who has served as part of the Trustee Board and the St. Paul Male Chorus; and12 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, a proud veteran, James S. Clark has also served as a guardian of this nation's13 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | freedom and liberty with the United States Army, completing two tours in Vietnam and14 |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | earning two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star; and15 |
|---|

| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, as additional testament to his dedication to those in need, he has received |

| 26 | 26 | | selfless contributions on behalf of others; and18 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high19 |

| 28 | 28 | | ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom20 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved21 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | through overcoming the many challenges of life; and22 |

| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, James S. Clark is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable23 |

| 32 | 32 | | reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and24 |

| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exemplary individual be25 |

| 34 | 34 | | appropriately honored during this special time.26 |

| 35 | 35 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body27 |

| 36 | 36 | | recognize and commend James S. Clark, recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.28 |

| 37 | 37 | | Community Service Award, and extend sincere best wishes for future health, happiness, and29 |
