| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, created in 2015, National Caregivers Day serves to recognize caregivers across2 |

| 9 | 9 | | the country whose compassionate care enables millions of Americans who are aging or who3 |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | have a disability to remain as independent as possible in their own homes; and4 |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, professional caregivers, who number nearly 4.6 million in the United States,5 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and family caregivers, who are estimated at 44 million, are lifelines to millions of Americans6 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | who need assistance with medical, personal, and end-of-life care; and7 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, caregiving has been proclaimed the ultimate form of love and respect, and as8 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | a country, we should support and demonstrate our gratitude for caregivers and their role in9 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | fulfilling an individual's desire to remain at home; and10 |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, the home care industry is among the fastest growing health care industries in11 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the United States, and the Home Care Association Georgia Chapter continuously advocates12 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | on behalf of our frontline caregivers; and13 |

| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, during the COVID-19 pandemic, caregivers stepped up to the challenge by not |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, home care workers allow families to stay together at home safely and with17 |

| 27 | 27 | | dignity as they age.18 |

| 28 | 28 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body19 |

| 29 | 29 | | recognize February 28, 2025, as Georgia Caregivers Day and express their gratitude to20 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | caregivers for their unwavering commitment to the care of their clients and families.21 |
