88 WHEREAS, created in 2015, National Caregivers Day serves to recognize caregivers across2
99 the country whose compassionate care enables millions of Americans who are aging or who3
1010 have a disability to remain as independent as possible in their own homes; and4
1111 WHEREAS, professional caregivers, who number nearly 4.6 million in the United States,5
1212 and family caregivers, who are estimated at 44 million, are lifelines to millions of Americans6
1313 who need assistance with medical, personal, and end-of-life care; and7
1414 WHEREAS, caregiving has been proclaimed the ultimate form of love and respect, and as8
1515 a country, we should support and demonstrate our gratitude for caregivers and their role in9
1616 fulfilling an individual's desire to remain at home; and10
1717 WHEREAS, the home care industry is among the fastest growing health care industries in11
1818 the United States, and the Home Care Association Georgia Chapter continuously advocates12
1919 on behalf of our frontline caregivers; and13

2222 WHEREAS, during the COVID-19 pandemic, caregivers stepped up to the challenge by not

2424 only caring for their clients but also risking their own personal health and safety while doing15
2525 so; and16
2626 WHEREAS, home care workers allow families to stay together at home safely and with17
2727 dignity as they age.18
2828 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body19
2929 recognize February 28, 2025, as Georgia Caregivers Day and express their gratitude to20
3030 caregivers for their unwavering commitment to the care of their clients and families.21
3131 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed22
3232 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the23
3333 press.24
