| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Major (Ret.) Dorothy A. Britton served as a guardian of this nation's freedom2 |

| 9 | 9 | | and liberty with the United States Army, demonstrating exceptional dedication and3 |

| 10 | 10 | | leadership throughout her distinguished 22-year military career; and4 |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, a native of Water Valley, Mississippi, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political5 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | science from Alcorn State University, where she received her commission as a Second6 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Lieutenant in May 1989, beginning her service as an Army Ordnance (Logistics) Officer; and7 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, throughout her career, she served with distinction in both active duty and the8 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Army Reserve, applying her expertise in logistics to ensure operational success and9 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | efficiency within the United States Army; and10 |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, following her retirement from military service, she furthered her education by11 |

| 18 | 18 | | earning a master's degree in human resources administration from Central Michigan12 |

| 19 | 19 | | University as well as multiple certifications in human resources and real estate; and13 |

| 25 | 25 | | public, and field inspection services; and16 |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, she remains a devoted wife to Chief Warrant Officer 4 (Ret.) Dario Britton and17 |

| 27 | 27 | | a loving mother to their daughter, Sidney, while also actively supporting New Life Church18 |

| 28 | 28 | | in Decatur, Georgia, and volunteering within her community; and19 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this20 |

| 30 | 30 | | remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately recognized.21 |
