66 Recognizing and commending Major (Ret.) Dorothy A. Britton; and for other purposes.

88 WHEREAS, Major (Ret.) Dorothy A. Britton served as a guardian of this nation's freedom2
99 and liberty with the United States Army, demonstrating exceptional dedication and3
1010 leadership throughout her distinguished 22-year military career; and4
1111 WHEREAS, a native of Water Valley, Mississippi, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political5
1212 science from Alcorn State University, where she received her commission as a Second6
1313 Lieutenant in May 1989, beginning her service as an Army Ordnance (Logistics) Officer; and7
1414 WHEREAS, throughout her career, she served with distinction in both active duty and the8
1515 Army Reserve, applying her expertise in logistics to ensure operational success and9
1616 efficiency within the United States Army; and10
1717 WHEREAS, following her retirement from military service, she furthered her education by11
1818 earning a master's degree in human resources administration from Central Michigan12
1919 University as well as multiple certifications in human resources and real estate; and13

2222 WHEREAS, she is a dedicated entrepreneur who currently serves as a REALTOR and the

2424 owner of Phoenix Realty and Business Services LLC, where she provides real estate, notary15
2525 public, and field inspection services; and16
2626 WHEREAS, she remains a devoted wife to Chief Warrant Officer 4 (Ret.) Dario Britton and17
2727 a loving mother to their daughter, Sidney, while also actively supporting New Life Church18
2828 in Decatur, Georgia, and volunteering within her community; and19
2929 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this20
3030 remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately recognized.21
3131 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body22
3232 recognize and commend Major (Ret.) Dorothy A. Britton for her exceptional military service,23
3333 professional achievements, and dedicated community involvement as well as extend the most24
3434 sincere best wishes for future health and happiness.25
3535 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26
3636 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Major (Ret.)27
