A RESOLUTION
Commending small business advocacy organizations and recognizing March 5, 2025, as

Small Business Advocacy Day; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, small businesses are the backbone of our economy, representing 99.7 percent3
of businesses in the State of Georgia; and4
WHEREAS, in recognition of the significance of small businesses, Small Business Advocacy5
Day serves as a platform to celebrate their contributions and address their needs; and6
WHEREAS, the Small Business Majority, the Women's Entrepreneurial Opportunity Project7
Inc., the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs,8
Our Village United, Kindred Futures, and Georgia First are organizations dedicated to9
advocating for and supporting small businesses in Georgia; and10
WHEREAS, these organizations play a crucial role in empowering entrepreneurs, fostering11
economic growth, and promoting equitable opportunities for small business owners across12
various communities; and13

WHEREAS, these organizations are committed to fostering a thriving environment for small
14
businesses and entrepreneurship in Georgia.15
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body16
commend the Small Business Majority, the Women's Entrepreneurial Opportunity Project17
Inc., the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs,18
Our Village United, Kindred Futures, and Georgia First for their efforts to empower19
entrepreneurs, promote economic development, and advance opportunities for small business20
owners across the State of Georgia.21
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body recognize March 5, 2025, as22
Small Business Advocacy Day in acknowledgment of the many remarkable contributions23
made to Georgia's economy by small businesses.24
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed25
to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the26
press.27
